HKR International Limited’s (“HKRI”) corporate volunteer team, HKR Care & Share, celebrated the festive season with about 100 underprivileged children and teenagers from the T.W.G.Hs Residential Child Care Services by organising a Christmas party at the Grand Azure ballroom, Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong on 21 December 2013 (Saturday).
Sponsored by HKR International Limited, the “Share the Joy@ DB Christmas Party” 「童歡共聚愉景灣聖誕派對」was a joint initiative with the T.W.G.Hs Residential Child Care Services. Most of the children and teenagers are from underprivileged families and some of them are in need of temporary care away from homes due to family issues.
Together with their carers, foster parents and staff from the T.W.G.Hs, the children and teens took part in fun booth games, group activities and Christmas photo frame making with HKR Care & Share volunteers. They also had a chance to get onto the one-of-a-kind horse carriage. Volunteers joined the children in singing along Christmas carols and enjoying a sumptuous buffet lunch, and the event culminated in an exciting lucky draw session. Before the party came to an end, Santa Claus made a surprised appearance with fabulous gifts for all the boys and girls. Everyone had wonderful time and festive joy together at the ballroom.
The activity provided a valuable opportunity for all HKR Care & Share volunteers to bring care and love to the underprivileged children and adolescents, realising the true spirits of Christmas, and learning the skills of communicating with children. Leveraging their experience and expertise, HKR Care & Share volunteers will continue contributing to the community through a sustained programme of activities and events.
