HKR Care & Share, HKR International Limited’s (“HKRI”) corporate volunteer team, organised a festive outing “Discover Christmas Fun @DB” in Discovery Bay to share the joy with underprivileged children serviced by the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council (“NAAC”) Tung Chung Integrated Services Centre on 20 December 2014 (Saturday).
HKR Care & Share volunteers celebrated the festive season with about 40 local and South Asian children in Discovery Bay, promoting the values of care & respect, as well as racial harmony. After a few ice-breaking games at the NAAC Tung Chung Integrated Services Centre - Discovery Bay Sub-office, the participants had great fun playing in the city’s largest indoor playground DiscoveryLand at DB North Plaza, followed by a delectable lunch. The volunteers also handed out lovely Christmas presents to the children. It was truly a memorable Christmas celebration to everyone.
The NAAC has been offering support and services to the Lantau community, in particular in Tung Chung and Discovery Bay. HKR Care & Share volunteers valued the opportunity to learn communicating with children of different ethnics and share love and care during the festive season, making this Christmas exceptionally meaningful. HKR Care & Share, with the full support of the company, will continue to help people in need through various volunteer programmes and activities.
