HKR Care & Share Volunteers Take Elderly on Outing to The Y Farm of Healthy Ageing

HKR Care & Share, HKR International Limited’s (“HKRI”) corporate volunteer team, organised a farm trip “Go Green with Elderly” on 25 April 2015 (Saturday) for the elderly from the Hong Kong YWCA Sham Shui Po Integrated Home Care Service(s) Team so that they can get away from the crowded city and enjoy the nice spring weather and greenery in the countryside. All volunteers and elderly had great fun handcrafting reusable shopping bag and enjoyed a delightful lunch at the Y Farm of Healthy Ageing in Fanling.

The volunteers, together with over 20 elderly, toured around the farm and got introduced to the various organic crops and plants. After a delectable farm produce lunch, the volunteers and elderly explored their creativity and painted their own one-of-a-kind environmental shopping bag with pigments made from the juices of vegetables. Each elderly also received a goodie bag filled with practical gifts from the volunteers. It was a truly fulfilling day for the elderly.

HKRI has achieved two milestones in Corporate Social Responsibility in 2015. Apart from being awarded the 10 Year Plus “Caring Company Logo” by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, 2015 also marks the 10th anniversary of the corporate volunteer team, HKR Care & Share. With the full support of the company, we shall continue to fulfill our social responsibility and show our care for those in need through various volunteer programmes and activities.
