HKRI Care & Share Volunteers Host Chinese New Year Gathering for Elders

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, HKRI Care & Share, HKR International Limited’s (“HKRI”) corporate volunteer team, joined hands with teenage volunteers from the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (T.W.G.Hs.) Residential Child Care Services to host a Chinese New Year Gathering for elders serviced by T.W.G.Hs. Pong Wing Shiu Neighbourhood Elderly Centre on 27 February 2016 (Saturday).

The gathering kicked off with interactive games with the 60 seniors before lunch, followed by a delicious meal together. During the luncheon, some volunteers of the T.W.G.Hs. Residential Child Care Services and HKRI Care & Share gave great performances to heat up the atmosphere. HKRI Care & Share have also prepared goodie bags filled with daily and food items for all participating elders.

Through a total of 67 service units providing children and youth services, specialised counselling as well as family services, T.W.G.Hs. is committed to promoting child, youth development and family well-being. T.W.G.Hs. Residential Child Care Services operate small group homes, foster care service and girls’ hostel to provide home care, counselling, therapeutic groups, career guidance and social development activities for users ranging from new-born babies to teenagers up to 18 years old with inadequate family care and for girls aged from 12 to 21 with emotional and behavioral problems. HKRI Care & Share volunteers will continue to collaborate with other social service organisations to serve the community and care for the needy.
