Discovery Bay’s annual flagship family event “Discovery Bay Easter Egg Hunt on the Beach cum Carnival” on 18-19 April was a tremendous success. The two-day event once again drew unprecedented attention with record-breaking registrations of around 4,300 families – an over 15% growth from last year; while the entire Easter holiday (18-21 April) attracted over 100,000 footfall. As Hong Kong’s premier family-friendly destination , the event significant boosted traffic to Discovery Bay’s dining, retail and hospitality establishments, leading to 90% seating capacity for about 90% of restaurants. It has also garnered hundreds of social media reports from artistes and KOLs.
Celebrating its 18th anniversary, the event expands to offer more quotas and exciting array of new fun activities and exclusive offers. Highlights included the “DB Plaza Inflatable Funland”, which could accommodate up to 180 children, as well as the surrounding vibrant installations and game booths; “Discovery Bay Easter Adventure Online Game” by TeamUnlock+, which invited exploration of Discovery Bay while solving puzzles; and free admission to “DB North Plaza Giant Easter Eggs Funland” with extended service until 21 April. These initiatives align with the Government’s “Tourism is everywhere in Hong Kong” advocate, boosting local businesses with festive opportunities and fuelling the spirit of local consumption.
Children aged 3 to 10 searched the beach for eggs to win 50,000 exquisite prizes and special awards, with a total value exceeding HK$1 million. The eggs are made natural, plant-based and reusable materials, creating a sustainable future.
