Celebrate the Traditional Tuen Ng Festival with a European Twist
 
The 24th Discovery Bay Dragon Boat Races & Carnival, featuring heart-stopping dragon boat races on Tai Pak Beach and festive Carnival at the DB Plaza nearby, will be back this Tuen Ng Festival on 12 June 2013 (Wednesday) in Discovery Bay, filling the neighbourhood with fun, laughter, energy and carnival atmosphere!
 
A total of 59 teams representing Discovery Bay residents, various business corporations and professional bodies, as well as the recently-opened resort hotel, Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong, will compete for the champion in various races. 
 
At the same time, the open-air Carnival at DB Plaza, organised by D’Deck, next to Tai Pak Beach will have stage performances1 including hip hop lion dance, fire dance and award-winning performance by the Hong Kong Disneyland Cheerleading Team. Fill your shopping bags with hand-picked goodies from over 40 booths selling everything from home decoration items, clothing & accessories, handicrafts to mouth-watering snacks. What’s more, there will be an Inflatable Funland2 and handicraft workshops specially designed for kids! 
 
Don’t forget to pamper your taste buds at one of the 20 thematic restaurants at D’Deck, the largest oceanfront alfresco dining hotspot in Hong Kong, where you will have the best seats to spectate the races in Tai Pak Beach!
 
Short & Sweet Horse Carriage Ride at DB North Plaza
Another “must-do” is the Short & Sweet Horse Carriage Ride3 at DB North Plaza, available on every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday. At a special introductory price of HK$200 per ride, you can enjoy a relaxing ride through DB North Plaza, taking in the European themed architecture. The carriage will be drawn by two Percheron mares or Belgian geldings, each with unique features and characters. You can learn more about the horses first-hand by inquiring with the horse handlers.

1 The open-air Carnival stage performance will be held from 11:30am to 6:00pm, free entry.
 
2 Customers spending HK$200 or more at one of the 14 designated restaurants (see 5 below) at D’Deck can redeem 4 game tickets at Inflatable Funland Service Counter with a same-day original receipt. Each child aged 12 or below can play one of the inflatable games once by presenting one valid game ticket.
 
3 The ticket counter of Short & Sweet Horse Carriage Ride is located at DB North Plaza. Each ride lasts for about 10 minutes at the special rate of HK$200 for a maximum capacity of 4 passengers (2 adults and 2 children).

4 Free Ferry Ride Offer is valid for dinner consumption from Monday to Friday, and lunch /dinner consumption on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday, on the same day of the transaction, and for the following schedules only: Mon-Fri: 7:30pm-12:00am; Sat/Sun/public holiday: 1:00pm-12:00am.
