Discovery Bay Tai Pak Beach Playground’s New Facilities Ready for Action

Hong Kong’s largest beach playground has doubled its size
Get ready for a fun adventure with all family members!

In celebration of the new year, Discovery Bay has prepared a special gift for the little ones. Tai Pak Beach playground, already the largest in Hong Kong, has expanded with new play equipment and it is now double in size. The playground is open to the public all-day, and is free.

In 2017, Tai Pak Beach introduced a number of special playground equipment items which can help children improve their co-ordination and balance whilst having fun. The beautiful beach setting makes the playground a firm favourite among children. Discovery Bay expanded this outdoor playground further at the end of 2019 and added more new equipment. Children can choose to simply enjoy these play structures or use them as an obstacle course for some friendly competition. The enhanced beach playground provides a safe, inclusive and stimulating social space for the little ones, allowing children of different nationalities and ages to play together, take care of each other and enjoy all the fun.

Besides the beach playground, children can also visit EpicLand at DB North or enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride at Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong. Whilst taking a break from all the action, treat your family with some great food. Take your children to the serene Central Park for a picnic or dig in to the delicious international cuisines at D’Deck, a renowned alfresco dining hotspot, or the restaurants at DB North. With so many things to play with, you will have an unforgettable holiday at Discovery Bay.

Appendix 1

1. Tai Pak Beach Playground’s New Equipment

Tai Pak Beach playground, which is the largest in Hong Kong, is now double in its original size and has brand new equipment to create more fun for children. The new play structures, which are in natural colours, include climbing nets, slides, a rope bridge, jumping logs and inclined walkways.

These structures can help children improve their co-ordination, balance and use of their muscles whilst having fun. Children can choose to simply enjoy these play structures or use them as an obstacle course for some friendly competition. For young children, parents can set certain goals for them and encourage them to progressively overcome these challenges. This will help the children develop courage and patience. Together with existing playground equipment such as the Rope Play Tower and Slide, Supernova Wheel and Hong Kong's one and only children’s zip line course and Specialty Swings that can accommodate several children at a time, the new playground equipment will cement Tai Pak Beach’s standing as a favourite recreational spot for the family.

Besides an expansive beach space where children can have fun, the new outdoor playground also provides a safe, inclusive and stimulating social area for the little ones, allowing children of different nationalities and ages to play together, take care of each other and have fun. Children can develop their cognitive skills, sense of adventure and courage. In the process, they will also learn how to communicate and take care of others.

The outdoor playground is furnished with amenities such as showers, changing rooms and toilets. There are also rest points nearby for adults and children to take a break from the sun.
