The Group Honoured with Silver Award at UNSDG Hong Kong Achievement Awards 2025
The Group has proactively integrated green practices into its operations. In alignment with the UNSDGs, HKRI has contributed to biodiversity conservation by launching HK’s first blossom tower “DBee Oasis” designed for pollinators. Constructed using timber recycled locally and native flora, DBee Oasis provides habitats and feeding grounds for pollinating species, thereby enhancing biodiversity. Since 2023, the Group has partnered with a local accredited educational institution to conduct coastal mangrove research in Discovery Bay. The research explores soil composition and depth, maps species distribution, and examines salt-tolerant mangrove varieties for transplantation.
Solar panels have been installed across the Group’s managed properties, offsetting CO₂ emissions in 2024/2025, equivalent to planting 7,500 trees. In support of green transport, the Group has been replacing old vehicles with newer, more energy-efficient models, with plans to replace at least 10 diesel buses with EVs by 2030. Electric golf carts have been fully deployed at the Lantau Yacht Club and Discovery Bay Golf Club.
In 2022, Discovery Bay’s City Management launched The Green DBers Program, collaborating with public institutions, private enterprises and social organisations to deliver educational initiatives that promote green living in the community, in support of UNSDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
