This year, in support of The Community Chest of Hong Kong's (“CCHK”) Dress Casual Day, HKRI has once again demonstrated its dedication to this event for the fourth consecutive year. With a strong emphasis on environmental living, HKRI encourages its employees to participate, resulting in a new record-breaking number of participants and the highest donation amount in HKRI's history.
The Dress Casual Day, initiated by The CCHK and celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, encourages the public to don casual attire to work and raise funds for those in need. On 30 October, employees from HKRI’s offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Jiaxing, Hangzhou, Tokyo, and Bangkok responded to the theme of environmental living, ‘ “So” Far “Soul” Good’ by dressing green and dining green for the occasion.
Having held the title of the “Highest Participation Rate” under “Companies & Organisations” category in the Dress Casual Day for the past two years, HKRI surpassed its own record this year with an impressive of 1,645 employees taking part. The Group has made a charitable donation on participating employees’ behalf, which will be contributed to 12 non-profit organisations supported by The CCHK, assisting in child protection and welfare services in Hong Kong, underscoring HKRI's commitment to giving back to the community.
During the Dress Casual Day, many employees showcased their creativity in embracing sustainable lifestyle. Examples included wearing minimalist, eco-friendly clothing and indulging in healthy detox tea and green vegetables as part of their vegetarian diets, in line with the principles of Green Monday. Additionally, to encourage more employees to share innovative green lifestyles, HKRI organised a photo contest for the Dress Casual Day, with winners receiving organic fruits, snacks, and vouchers from organic lifestyle e-commerce platforms.
From the ‘Dress Casual Day’ to ‘Earth Hour’ and ‘World Smile Day’, HKRI consistently integrates sustainability into the daily lives of its employees. The company seamlessly incorporates environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) principles into its development strategies. In addition to prioritising employee well-being, HKRI actively supports non-profit organisations through community service initiatives and promotes environmental measures, embodying the spirit of "Respect".
